The major tribe of this area are the Rajpoots (RAO and Ranas)Gondal[MUGHAL(Kashmiri)] Jats, and their sub-tribes such as the Gara, Shirana, Shahabul ka, Mumnaana(from Momin Khan) and others. The tehsil is also home to other Jat clans such as the Lak, Ranjha, Khoti, Mekan Jethal, Bhin, Ghugh and Jalap.
